This is the event that will have gaming boys and girls up and out of bed this half term.
The National Museum of Scotland’s latest exhibition 'Game Masters', showcases the talent of more than 30 leading video game designers. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, this is Game Masters’ first European venue to display all these fantastic objects from gaming history.
Discover more about the development of video games through over 100 games, interactive exhibits and original artwork. Icons from Scottish gaming history are featured, including the designers of widely successful Grand Theft Auto, and creators of the pioneering game, Glitchspace.
For Half-Term, from 14th to 22nd February, the Museum are also running a programme of free, interactive workshops which give kids the chance to try their hand at games from throughout the ages. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat shimmies onto the Edinburgh Playhouse stage between the 17th – 21st February. Providing an all singing and all dancing retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph and his many-coloured coat, is Lloyd Daniels from X Factor and Matt Lapinskas, famed for playing Anthony Moon in BBC’s drama Eastenders. Amelia Lily, also from X Factor fame, will be joining the cast for her debut as the Narrator. You and the kids won't be able to resist singing along to the muscial's much loved hits 'Close Every Door' and 'Any Dream Will Do'. As the UK’s longest running musical, this is one not be missed!

You are locked in a mysterious room. You have just sixty minutes save the city from the evil Dr Herr Kutz's devious plan. Tick tock, tick tock. 'Can You Escape?' is a game for three to six players who are challenged to work together in order to look for clues and solve a sequence of puzzles which will enable them to escape before their hour is up. The game is recommend as being suitable for players aged 12 and over but if you do have children younger just call or email them before your visit so they can tailor the game for your arrival.

Is your wee one a mucky pup? Do they prefer pigs over Peppa? Sounds like they would be the perfect helper for Gorgie City Farm! They'll learn all about farming and caring for animals, whilst making new friends and having a heap of fun.
