There are plenty of fun things to do with your kids at Easter in Edinburgh but what could be better than an Easter Hunt! Here’s where to find the best Easter Hunts in Edinburgh for some egg-cellent family fun:

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh – Botanic Bunny Golden Egg Hunt

Celebrate Easter at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh by helping the Botanic Bunny find the golden egg. Follow the trails around the garden and discover the beautiful nature and wildlife along the way. The trail is appropriate for all ages and there is no bookings required, just pick up the £1 trail map from John Hope Gateway reception desk or the East Gate entrance. The Botanic Bunny Golden Egg hunt is running from 24th March - 3rd April.

For Easter Sunday itself on 27th March there will also be free, drop-in Easter Explorers crafts activities from 1pm - 4pm where your little ones can decorate a botanical Easter egg.

If you’re looking for an Easter activity with a difference pop along to Mercat Tours’ Easter Meg Hunt. Hear tales of days gone by and uncover some Easter treats as you explore Edinburgh’s famous closes and courtyards before heading down into the Blair Street Underground Vaults. Look out for the hidden Megs in the nooks and crannies of the Vaults and you could win an Easter prize.

All aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia for plenty of Easter family fun! Take a tour of this magnificent ship and look out for the cute critters hidden on board; not bunnies or chicks but cuddly Yottie Bears. Keep count of how many you spot then at the end of the tour tell the guides what your total is for the chance to win an Easter prize. Visit the Royal Deck Tearoom after your tour to treat yourself to Easter cupcakes and chocolate milkshakes.

The Yottie Bear Treasure Hunt runs from 21st March - 17th April and the Easter treats in the Royal Deck Tearoom will be served from 25th - 27th March. Book your tickets for the tour on the Royal Yacht Britannia website.

Palace of Holyroodhouse - Fabergé Family Fun

Visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse on Easter Sunday to learn about all things Fabergé. Activities include an egg hunt, face painting, storytelling and the chance to make your very own Fabergé egg to take home. On the Fabergé Egg Hunt you’ll find out more about the history of the Palace, solve riddles and complete activities with a fun trail to track down the hidden Fabergé inspired eggs.

Cadbury Easter Egg Trail – National Trust Scotland

Join in the National Trust for Scotland’s Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt at The Georgian House in Edinburgh. Follow the trails around the venue, collect clues and solve the puzzle for the chance to win lovely chocolate bunnies. 

The Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt takes place at Georgian House on from 25th to 28th March between 10am and 4.15pm. Usual entry fee applies at the Georgian House and the trail is £1 per hunt.

Edinburgh Farmers' Market – Charity Easter Egg Hunt

Have some fun and raise money for a good cause at Edinburgh Farmers' Market Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday 26th March. Raising money for The Royal Scottish Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RSABI).

The Edinburgh Farmers' Market Easter Egg Hunt is open to children aged 4-10 from 10am to 1pm for a suggested donation of £1 – all proceeds go to RSABI. Visit the info stall at the Farmers Market to pick up a clue sheet and basket.
