It's Alive!

This summer, the Museum of Childhood hosts a marvellous cast of clockwork characters. In their cabinet of wonders, see forty astonishing automata from the last two centuries. This interactive exhibition includes lots of moving parts - push the buttons and see machines come to life before your very eyes.

Meet a beautiful musician who has long outlived her creator, and a magician who plays his hundred-year old tricks. In this exhibition you'll also find Pneuma: The Mechanical Egg - a spectacular series of etchings by the artist Robert Powell that explores the history, mythology and ideas connected to automata.
