Marketing Edinburgh through Convention Edinburgh is committed to its members through regular communication and service to ensure members leverage the most from the marketing tools provided, and the business leads generated.

For small and large organisations alike, investment levels exist to suit your business’ objectives and budget.

Range of Benefits:

1. Business Enquiries

Through the promotion of Edinburgh nationally and internationally, business enquiries and referrals are created for members. Each member is provided with extranet access to pick up enquiries generated by the Business Tourism team, and portal access to to access and respond to enquiries direct from meeting planners.

2. Member Extranet

Log in any time, any place to find out tips on making the most of your membership, new and exciting opportunities, updates on city campaigns and how to get involved. See where members are being promoted through articles, blogs, social media and PR. Post a question to fellow members and hear their views and inspirational ideas on meeting new business demands and challenges.

3. Digital/Printed Promotion

Marketing Edinburgh produces the primary business events publication Blueprint, promoting business event facilities, products and services. The planners guide is a must have for event planners and clients locally, nationally and internationally. The digital guide is distributed to qualified buyers and produced annually to promote members and secure a position at the forefront of potential business. The document is also published on the publication platform

Connecting with a significant consumer audience is provided on This site attracts over 120,000 unique visitors from around the globe every month. Dependant on the membership category there are up to 3 different content page opportunities free of charge to participate in. For member-specific advertising campaigns a 25% discount on our rate card is offered. (Free content is entirely at the discretion of the marketing team and must be appropriate to the audience. No minimum guarantee of placement is given.)

4. Familiarisation Programmes/Site Visits/Press

Members are offered the opportunity to participate in familiarisation programs, site visits and press visits conducted by Marketing Edinburgh. Hosted clients can include; association and corporate key decision makers, professional conference organisers and the media. Such initiatives present a prime opportunity for members to showcase their product.

5. Business Leads and Referrals

A confirmed conference list is provided on a monthly basis. This is a confidential list of all upcoming conventions and meetings to Edinburgh. The report is a powerful resource allowing members to research and market their business to event organisers that have requirements to satisfy. Warm business leads are provided by a Lead Forensics list that identifies business potential from companies visiting your entry on, and is emailed on a monthly basis.

6. Social Media

Members will have their news promoted through the social media platforms of Marketing Edinburgh; @conventions@edinburgh@FilmEdinburgh. No minimum guarantee is given. Members participating in Edinburgh Rewards will additionally be promoted through @delegaterewards.

7. City Accommodation Booking Service

Accommodation providers will automatically be enrolled into this member benefit. Convention Edinburgh procures bedroom allocations on behalf of the conferences it brings to the city. Members will be contacted to request allocations on behalf of our clients and in line with their specific criterion. Participating properties pay 10% commission on each room booking.

8. Member Training and Networking

Networking with other members and key industry partners is a proven and successful way of generating contacts, partnerships and often potential business. Numerous networking events are provided throughout the year including the highly regarded annual dinner celebrating the Edinburgh Ambassador Program. Quarterly workshops provide informative training and give advice on how to maximise on membership, updates and new initiatives.

9. Edinburgh Rewards Programme

Members in the Eat, Shop, Tour and Explore categories can participate in the Edinburgh Rewards Program which includes additional benefits that are directed to promote businesses directly to conference delegates. Members participating in the programme will have inclusion in the print run of a city rewards map, advertisement on and exposure on @delegaterewards. Full details of this additional benefit can be discussed with the Membership Team at any time. Participation is dependant on offering delegates an added value or discount.

Meeting and Conferences

Upon joining our membership programme, your business will also have access to our Convention Bureau activity. We focus on communicating the city’s offer to event organisers, securing major conferences and helping our members access new business opportunities.

As a member, we will also work with you to boost your online and media profile, featuring your business on our dedicated online resource and publications and briefing target media on your latest news.
