While a lot of the traditional family favourites are postponed this year, there’s still a wide variety of activities available to keep all the family happy, even the big kids!
So, for when the board games have all played been, the selection boxes have all been eaten and you need an excuse to wear those new shoes/hat/scarf, why not try some of these suggestions – who knows, you might just find your new family tradition!

Christmas at the Botanics

Santa at Ocean Terminal

Santa brings the magic of Christmas to Ocean Terminal.
While Christmas 2020 will be a little different, the elves at Ocean Terminal aren’t letting coronavirus ruin the Christmas spirt. Santa and his helpers will now return to the centre on 3 December and will stay there every day through to Christmas Eve (excluding 7 – 9 December), celebrating the festivities in a safe and socially distant way.
Edinburgh Zoo's Christmas Nights

Get into the festive spirit with a magical journey to the North Pole.
A spectacular light trail around the zoo will take you on an incredible voyage, passing through Penguins Rock by moonlight and exploring an enchanted ice forest on your way to visit Santa’s workshop.

Meet Santa in a personalised and private Zoom session live from the North Pole!
Santa can meet up to 6 children in one session and an unlimited number of grown-ups can also join from anywhere in the world. Sessions last up to 12 minutes and the elves will even send you a free recording of your session to keep forever!

Gingerbread House Decorating at The Cauldron Edinburgh
