Discounted days out in Edinburgh this winter

We're all feeling the tightening of our purse strings, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of some engaging, entertaining and educational days out.
Running until 31 March 2023, VisitScotland have launched a new incentive scheme, Great Days Out, to encourage people to experience some of the very best of Scotland, with up to 50% discount at participating visitor attractions.

What is Edinburgh without the castle? One of the most intrinsic parts of the city's tourist experiences is, of course, visiting its most-recognised landmark - Edinburgh Castle.
From battles to banquets, jewels to jousting tournaments, embark on a tour of this mighty fortress and fully submerge yourself in its rich history.

Sometimes known as Edinburgh’s “other castle”, Craigmillar Castle is one of the most perfectly preserved castles in Scotland.
Set in rolling parkland, what was once a late 14th century tower house, grew in time to become a medieval stronghold. Today, it is most famously known for offering refuge to Mary Queen of Scots in 1566.
