Laura: How can this be my last blog post for Edinburgh Fashion Week? It just started 5 minutes ago!
I can’t believe the week went so quickly - like trends come and go EFW is over for 2015 but I already cannot wait till next year!
For any of you who missed what’s been going on for Edinburgh Fashion Week, a) how could you have?! and b) don't worry because I’m here to summarise it all for you!
It all started on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March with the brilliant launch weekend on the Mound. Squeezed into the two days were fashion shows featuring amazing clothing from Edinburgh stores, tutorials with some Edinburgh fashionistas, pop-up shops, and great food and drink from G&V Hotel, Pickering’s Gin and Menabrea beer.

There were more great events during rest of the week (9th-15th March), including Gusto Presents; Men in Fashion, Greyfriars Tartan Fashion Show and the Edinburgh Charity Fashion Show.

Throughout Edinburgh Fashion Week the in-store offers and discounts were just incredible - I hope you all managed to make the most out of them and grab some bargains. There was 20% off across the city, from Walker Slater in the Grassmarket to Gap on Princess Street and many more, as well as some fabulous free gifts with purchase.
We also had two fashion makeovers for Edinburgh Fashion Week on The Fountainbridge Show when I got my Satisfashionable styling hands on the presenters of the show, Hayley and Ewen. With Hayley it was just super fun trying on new clothes and colours as she looks fab anyway. With Ewen we got to do more of an actual makeover from Radio Presenter (Before) to TV presenter (After)! This was a great opportunity to put Satisfashion Personal Styling and Personal Shopping on live TV which I absolutely loved.
The final piece to the Edinburgh Fashion Week 2015 puzzle was the announcement of the winners of the Win a Wardrobe street style competition. Live on STV Edinburgh’s The Fountainbridge Show I got to reveal that Eshiva Wright was our Street Style Queen and the winner of £300 of LK Bennett vouchers while Paul Keenan was our Street Style King and won £300 worth of Walker Slater vouchers. I cannot wait to see the outfits they pick out! There were loads of great entries for the competition and there are some very stylish folk in Edinburgh I must say.
The best thing about Edinburgh Fashion Week for me, in a Jerry Springer-style final summary, has to be that I feel like this event has united the Edinburgh fashion community and really celebrated the best of what Edinburgh has to offer. It’s created a strong fashion foundation for the city that we can build on year after year. So just because Edinburgh Fashion Week is over for this year don't stop supporting the local independents and going to all the amazing fashion events throughout the year, and sharing your Edinburgh street style. Use the #EdFashion hashtag so we can place Edinburgh on the map as a fashionable city to watch out for!
Edinburgh Fashion Week, Satisfashion hearts you and cannot wait till next year!
Big love,
Laura
