Mubarak's story

What is your favourite  memory of living in Edinburgh?

I have loads for memories about living in Edinburgh. Mainly the open spaces and that everything was within walking distance.

What is your favourite place in Edinburgh?

I think Holyrood Park and Arthur's Seat is one of my best places. Going up the mountain and viewing the whole city from the top is breathtaking.

Why would you recommend Edinburgh as a place to study?

I am very proud of being an alumnus of the University of Edinburgh.  Graduating from such a prestigious university opened the door for many opportunities and people are always in awe when I say I studied there.

I believe my study in the UK helped me achieve many things like:

  1. A better understanding the deep-rooted educational system and its practices.

  2. Further training to progress in my field for example transferrable skills courses, soft skill training and research training helped shaped me both as a person, and as a professional.
  3. Exchange opportunities with other institutions across the world. I visited an Indian University as part of a research journey.

I liked the fact that the University was immersed in the city. It meant there was interaction with the local community and I felt not only part of the University but also part of Edinburgh.
