Connect with others in one of Festival Theatre’s dementia friendly community events.

Taking place throughout each month, Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre offer a variety of stimulating events designed for those living with dementia.

Held in Festival Theatre Gin Bar, A Brew and Blether is a monthly social gathering, offering companionship, chat, and of course, tea and cake. Held each Wednesday, join them on 29 March or 26 April.

If you love music and lyrics, be sure not to miss Songwriting Sprint. Taking place on 13 March and 10 April, this fun event offers participants the chance to share their stories and ideas with musician, Gus Harrower and the theatre team. Songs composed are then performed by Edinburgh’s dementia inclusive Forget Me Notes singers at the theatre’s monthly Together In Song concerts, which take place on 03 March and 07 April.

Or if you fancy an afternoon of creative music-making, Tea and 'Jam'will be music to your ears. A family-friendly event, bring along your own instruments, song suggestions and get ready to sing the morning away. Tea and 'Jam' takes place in the theatre’s Edinburgh Gin Bar and online (on Zoom) on 27 March and 24 April.

Tickets for all these events are free but should be booked in advance on Capital Theatre’s website. A ticket is required for each attendee, including any carer(s).
