Celebrating traditional music from Scotland and around the world, Edinburgh Tradfest features an exciting programme of live music and talks.

Running for 11 days and showcasing more than 100 artists and musicians, Edinburgh Tradfest is back with an unmissable line-up of talks, music workshops, ceilidhs and storytelling.
Taking place at various venues across the city, including the Scottish Storytelling Centre, the Edinburgh Folk Club and Traverse Theatre, the festival kicks off on 28 April with two-time winner and six-time Grammy nominee Rhiannon Giddens performing with multi-instrumentalist, pianist and composer Francesco Turrisi.
Featuring both established and up-and-coming Scottish artists, highlights include Shetland pianist Amy Laurenson who was recently crowned BBC Radio Scotland’s Young Musician of the Year 2023, pipers Rona Lightfoot and Allan Macdonald, tenor banjo player Ciaran Ryan and award-winning singer and composer Kim Carnie.
Exciting international artists include Austro-British folk-punk singer-songwriter, Alicia Edelweiss, Swedish nyckelharpa player Fredy Clue and Gnawa musician Omar Afif in collaboration with local saxophonist, Steve Kettley.
New for 2023 is the ETF Spotlight which shines a light on emerging talent; while the popular lecture/recital, Rebellious Truth makes a return.
