Edinburgh's Hogmanay

Bring in the new year 2020 in style with one of the most famous celebrations on the planet - Edinburgh's Hogmanay. This three day festival attracts revellers from all four corners of the globe, saying a fond farewell to 2019 and starting off 2020 with a bang and a jam-packed schedule of spectacular events.

Edinburgh's Hogmanay Festival Highlights

The Torchlight Procession

On the 30th December, join thousands of participants and spectators with massed pipes and drums and thousands of torch carriers as they march down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Park to view the breathtaking Torchlight Procession fireworks. Seeing thousands of torches illuminate the city is truly a breathtaking sight to behold, so be sure to head along and take part in this wonderful Edinburgh tradition.

Street Party

Live bands and DJs fill the streets with music and the city centre comes alive with festivities as revellers from all over the globe come together in Edinburgh to bring in 2020 in style. This is one of the world's biggest outdoor parties, and as the clock strikes midnight images of the fireworks from Edinburgh Castle are beamed to over 1 billion people around the world. This is one New Year's celebration you won't forget.

Concert in the Gardens

Mark Ronson will lead the line up for this year's sensational Concert in the Gardens. With amazing views of both the main stage and the fireworks, this really is your ticket to the ultimate, memorable Hogmanay experience.

The Loony Dook

Welcome 2020 with a splash by taking part in the (quite literally) breathtaking Loony Dook at South Queensferry. For 30 years, thousands of people have taken an annual dip in the freezing cold waters of the Firth of Forth, raising thousands of pounds for charities across the UK. Not quite up for the challenge yourself? Spectators are welcome along to cheer on the "Dookers"!
