From family classics to cinematic masterpieces, Film Fest in the City returns with a bumper line-up of movie blockbusters.

Presented by Edinburgh International Film Festival, and in partnership with Essential Edinburgh, the hugely popular Film Fest in the City makes a welcome return to Edinburgh’s St Andrew Square this August.

For 3 days, movie goers can enjoy a variety of films, all screened for free, at this green and picturesque square in the heart of Edinburgh.

Choose from family favourites such as Paddington (2014), Fantastic Mr Fox (2009), Christopher Robin (2018) and Brave (2012); enjoy timeless classics like Rob Roy (1922) or 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968); or marvel at blockbusters such as Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) and Twilight (2008).

Free, un-ticketed entry to all screenings is available by walk-up on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability of space.

Guests are encourages to bring their own picnic blankets. Chairs will only be admitted in the case of accessibility or medical needs.

While picnics are welcome, no alcohol or glass may be brought into the event space.
