Ray Harryhausen Titan Of Cinema

In a career spanning over three decades, film special effects superstar Ray Harryhausen created some of the most memorable and inspiring visual effects in the history of cinema.

His work appeard in Jason and the Argonauts, the Sinbad films of the 1950s and 1970s, One Million Years B.C. and Mighty Joe Young.  He was also responsible for inspiring a whole new generation of filmmakers, and his influence on blockbuster cinema can still be seen today.

This exhibition is the largest and widest-ranging of his work, with newly restored and previously unseen material. See Harryhausen’s sketches and storyboards as well as original movie posters. Find out how Dynamation works - the illusion of layering backgrounds and footage of real actors to show them interacting with models on film - which Harryhausen developed and used to amazing effect.
