St Andrew's Night Supper & Ceilidh
Thursday 29 November
The Scottish Café by Contini
Contini are delighted to announce their first ever St Andrew's Night Ceilidh in the Scottish Café. Celebrate all things Scottish with a Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky dram, delicious traditional Scottish fayre, then dance your socks off with Contini's in house ceilidh band.
Tickets to this unmissable event include a welcome whisky cocktail, three courses, nip of Glenfiddich 12yo whisky and ceilidh. The locally produced haggis will be piped in and addressed, taken with a wee dram. Following supper is the traditional ceilidh by Shenanigans who are always guaranteed to get you dancing.
The Frying Scotsman Burger
Burger and Beers
Available throughout November
For a real taste of Scotland this St Andrew's Day head to Burgers and Beers and try their Frying Scotsman burger. This succulent Aberdeen Angus Burger is topped with a haggis fritter (caught fresh on Arthur’s Seat every morning), onion rings and mature Scottish cheddar, served with a deliciously creamy peppercorn sauce. Pair it with an Irn Bru and you’re a true Scot!
St Andrews Day at The Dunstane Houses
The Dunstane Houses
Friday 30 November
The Dunstane Houses mark our national day in suitably Scottish style, with an evening of song, feasting and a few drams of the good stuff.
Enjoy whisky or gin cocktail on arrival, soundtracked by the resident Piper, followed by a three-course Scottish dinner of proper Cullen skink and Orkney steak pie and locally grown veg, ending with an indulgent Orkney fudge cheese cake. You'll also get an expert-led whisky tasting experience between courses.
Finally, dance the night away with live music from a local folk band to see the night out in style.
Scottish Specials at Cuckoo's Bakery
Cuckoo's Bakery, Dundas Street and Bruntsfield Place
Cuckoo's Bakery is getting into the spirit of St Andrews day with a beautiful range of Scottish themed cupcakes. They are offering two delicious flavours made with locally sourced ingredients: Vanilla & Whisky; and Heather, White Chocolate and Honey. They will also have their showstopper Scottish box, featuring their saltire cupcakes and their superstar Highland Coo.
