Edinburgh Zoo’s Giant Lanterns competition

This winter, Edinburgh Zoo’s Giant Lanterns makes a much-anticipated return – this time with an underwater twist. Prepare to be wowed as you come face to face with a giant crab, take a walk through an enormous whale and explore a luminous underwater wonderland at this after-dark family-friendly trail. With refreshments such as toasted marshmallows, mulled wine and other festive treats available to enjoy along the route, it’s the perfect winter evening out. 

We’re delighted to be able to offer 5 people the chance to win a Family Ticket to Edinburgh Zoo’s Giant Lanterns. Comprising two adults and two children, tickets are valid for the full run of the event, from 14 November 2025 to 22 February 2026, on any evening of the winner’s choice, subject to availability.

Plus, an additional 5 people will win a Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) one-year Family Membership. Valid for two adults and up to three children, a membership provides free unlimited entry to Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park, access to discounted events and much more.

Terms and conditions

• A Family Ticket to Edinburgh Zoo’s Giant Lanterns is for two adults and two children. Tickets are valid for the full run of the event, from Friday 14 November 2025 to Sunday 22 February 2026, on any evening of the winner’s choice, subject to availability.
• A Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS) one-year Family Membership is valid for two adults and up to three children. Memberships can be arranged to start from a date of the winner’s choice. The arrangement must be in place by 31 December 2025. A membership provides free unlimited entry to Edinburgh Zoo and Highland Wildlife Park, discounts in on-site shops and restaurants, discounted rates for guests, and reciprocal visits to other zoos and wildlife parks across the UK. • This competition closes at midnight on Monday 24 November 2025.  
• All winners will be drawn at random.
• All entrants must be aged 18+ years.
• Any additional spend (travel, accommodation, food and drink etc) will be at the discretion and expense of the prize winners.
• All winners agree to RSVP within 48 hours of being notified, otherwise, their place will be allocated to the randomly drawn winner.
• All winners agree to their contact details being passed to Edinburgh Zoo for the delivery of this competition.
• The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
• The prize is not transferrable or refundable and cannot be sold. No cash alternative will be offered.
• A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted.
• The decision regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final, binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
