Each year, thousands of artists and cultural organisations around the world come together in a unique global movement to celebrate culture and support social causes through their event. On 29 November 2025, Edinburgh is joining the celebration of Fair Saturday, and everyone is invited to take part.
Fair Saturday places art and culture at the centre of society. In these uncertain times, it is more necessary than ever to acknowledge the work of artists and cultural and social organisations and to support their work so they can continue to create and generate a positive impact.
Through a programme of cultural events and activities, each supporting a social project or the local community, Fair Saturday promotes social inclusion, kindness and sharing.
Their 2025 programme include many well-known participants from Grassmarket and Leith Market, Barnton Bunker, and Scottish Storytelling Centre to Traverse Theatre, and various libraries. See their 2025 programme.
Fair Saturday is open to amateur and professional artists, social projects and communities, and can include cultural activities of all kinds. Everyone has a place in Fair Saturday.
