Firefly International is proud to present the Scottish premiere of Gaza: A Story of Love and War, an evocative documentary by Welsh-Jewish journalist Mike Joseph, that will be premiering on 30 June at the Out of the Blue Drill Hall in Leith.

The film chronicles the deeply personal narratives of two journalists: Mike Joseph, whose mother narrowly escaped the Holocaust, and Sami Abu Salem, a Palestinian reporter from Gaza who has endured profound loss amid ongoing conflict. Their virtual conversations traverse decades of displacement and trauma, from the 1948 Nakba to the present day, culminating in a poignant exploration of shared histories and the enduring question of coexistence.

Following the screening, Mike Joseph will engage in a live Q&A session, offering a unique opportunity to delve deeper into the film’s themes and the stories behind its creation.

The Drill Hall Café will be open from 6:00 PM, serving drinks and snacks prior to the film, which will begin at 7:00pm.
