Taking place as part of Robert Powell’s solo exhibition, Hall of Hours at Edinburgh Printmakers, this hybrid event offers a unique opportunity to hear Powell discuss his creative process and the concept of time explored in his work.

Talking to Dr Alasdair Richmond from the University of Edinburgh’s School of Philosophy, the event will also include a short Q&A session.

Robert Powell: Hall of Hours – which runs from 01 August to 02 November 2025 – is a thought-provoking multimedia exploration of time, humanity, and societal critique, inspired by medieval Books of Hours and the works of artists like Hogarth, Bosch, and Goya. Featuring prints, sculpture, sound installations, and a monumental 4.5-meter human clock with over 1000 characters, Powell’s work invites reflection on how we experience, order and preserve time.
