Bringing theatre closer to the people of Edinburgh, the theatre aims to perform in every part of the city, so that more people get to experience the magic of live storytelling.

The plays, written by leading Scottish writers, Apphia Campbell (Black is the Colour of My Voice, Through the Mud), Alexander McCall Smith (The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, 44 Scotland Street novels), Isla Cowan (Alright Sunshine, To the Bone), and Stephen Greenhorn (Sunshine on Leith, River City), will reflect the lives, choices, and everyday moments that make Edinburgh the city it is.

After the four plays have been performed across the city, they will be performed on stage at The Lyceum from 18 to 20 June 2026 in a quadruple-bill, allowing more people to experience these specially commissioned pieces.

The deadline for applications to have one of the plays performed in the place you call home is 6pm on Monday 16 March 2026.
