Looking for a new outdoors activity? Something that’s family friendly and gets the kids outside, or that will give you a different type of exercise with a bit of mental challenge? Want to explore new places? Then maybe orienteering is for you!
Orienteering is an adventure sport that exercises both body and mind. Using a map, the aim is to find the best way round a set of check-points. Choose whether to run or walk, compete with others or do it as an individual challenge. Fun for all ages and abilities, with a choice of different lengths and challenges, there’s something for everyone.
Taking place on the afternoon of Saturday 09 November 2024 at Vogrie Country Park in Midlothian, Interlopers Orienteering Club invite anyone interested in trying out the sport to come along to this open event.
A range of courses of different lengths and challenges will be available. Beginners and children can take part in the 2K introductory course, while more experienced orienteers can choose the Scottish Score Championship 2024. Club volunteers will be on hand to support newcomers.
Enter in advance to guarantee a map; there will be a limited number of maps available on a first-come-first-served basis on the day. Final entries close at midnight on Sunday 03 November 2024.
