Celebrating small business success and encouraging consumers to ‘shop local’ and support businesses in their communities, the campaign shines a spotlight on the UK’s small business community. By bringing shoppers and business owners together, it aims to support small businesses this holiday season – and helps their communities thrive all year long.
From a tea shop in Tollcross to a stationery shop in the West End, there are a number of different businesses spread right across Edinburgh taking part. Find out more about the participating Edinburgh businesses.
There are so many reasons why shopping local is worth the effort. It boosts the local economy; locally sourced produce means a shorter journey from field to plate; it offers a great opportunity to find one-off designer and craft items, and with many small businesses hosting events, from book groups to wine tasting nights, they help to build communities.
