Name a unicorn and win with The Scotch Whisky Experience

The Scotch Whisky Experience at the top of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile have been busy restoring their historic B-listed building which has provided a fantastic opportunity to preserve two unicorn figures which crown the façade of the building.

The unicorns were crafted in the 1800’s, from sandstone, timber and lead. Whilst their spirit is immortal, it transpired that their timber horns were not. Fortunately, the head of facilities and IT at the experience, Ross Morris, is a keen woodworker in his free time. Ross has undertaken the exciting project of creating the replacement unicorn

To mark the restoration of these historic unicorns, we’re giving two people the chance to name these mystical creatures. Two winners will win a pair of Gold Tour tickets to The Scotch Whisky Experience, followed by the specially created The Unicorn’s Ember cocktail and signature Scottish tapas for two people in Amber Restaurant and Bar.

2 x suggested unicorn names will be selected from all submitted entries.

Terms and conditions

  • Two people will each win a pair of Gold Tour tickets to The Scotch Whisky Experience, followed by the specially created The Unicorn’s Ember cocktail and signature Scottish tapas for two people in Amber Restaurant and Bar.
  • A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted, and one unicorn name per entry.
  • The competition closes at midnight on 27 April 2025.
  • Winners agree to RSVP within 48 hours of being notified. Otherwise, the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected.
  • The winners agree to their contact details being passed to The Scotch Whisky Experience and Amber Restaurant and Bar for the delivery of this competition. 
  • The prize must be redeemed in full by 30 June 2025, subject to availability.
  • The winners (and partners) must be over 18 years old. Challenge 25 will be adhered to.
  • Any additional spend (transport, accommodation etc) will be at the discretion and expense of the prize winners.
  • This prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. It is non-transferable and non-refundable and cannot be sold. No cash alternative will be offered.
