£1.00 tickets for Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography

Following a successful launch in 2024, The King’s Gallery will continue to offer £1.00 tickets to their latest exhibition – Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography for visitors receiving Universal Credit and other named benefits.

Running from 28 February to 07 September 2025, this exhibition will chart the evolution of royal portrait photography from the 1920s to the present day, unveiling the stories behind the creation of some of the most iconic images of the Royal Family.

£1.00 tickets for the exhibition are available to those receiving the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Pension Credit
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Jobseeker’s Allowance

Terms and conditions

  • £1.00 tickets are available for Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography at The King’s Gallery, Palace of Holyroodhouse for the duration of the exhibition (28 February to 07 September 2025).
  • Tickets must be prebooked online at Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography
  • Visitor numbers are limited, and some dates and timeslots can sell out in advance.
  • £1.00 tickets are non-refundable and cannot be converted into a 1 Year Pass.
  • Supporting up-to-date ID will be required on arrival at the gallery.
