Edinburgh Haymarket Train Station

Edinburgh Haymarket is a small station serving the West End of Edinburgh. Many trains stop here before terminating at Waverley allowing direct access to the West of the City. There is a tram stop adjacent to the station which connects the station with the airport and the airport bus also stops nearby. Buses heading into Princes Street and to the West of the City are available both on Haymarket Terrace and Dalry Road which is situated behind the station. Taxis are available at the nearby taxi rank.

Having opened in 1842, Haymarket is Edinburgh’s second largest station with both long-distance and local trains stopping here. The original station façade is still in use, but the station has undergone many renovations over the years to enable it to provide the facilities required by the many commuters and visitors to the city that use it.

There is a handy Marks & Spencer’s food store in the station along with a coffee stand and ticket machines. Adjacent there are many pubs, restaurants, and coffee shops. An ATM machine is available on the main concourse.

There are waiting rooms on platforms 4, 2 and 3 and toilets with baby-changing facilities are situated on platform 1.

The station is a Category A station for accessibility and has step-free access to all platforms with a Passenger Assist meeting point at the automatic ticket gates. There are two blue badge parking bays. The station has an induction loop.
