Edinburgh Jitsu
LeithEdinburgh Jitsu is a community-based club providing friendly and relaxed instruction in Japanese jiu-jitsu with a focus on practical self-defence
About
Edinburgh Jitsu has been a part of the Edinburgh community for over 25 years. Established in 1996, we provide training in Japanese jiu-jitsu which includes falling, throws, locks, pressure points and body movements, with a focus on the use in practical self-defence. Our style is Shin Tai Wa Ryu, 'School of Body and Mind' - we don't just hit things! The club has a relaxed and informal approach to training, no military-style shouting (most of the time!). We strongly believe that access to training should be open to as many people as possible. We have strong LGBTQ+ representation at all levels of the club. Our dojo is on the first floor so we are not wheelchair accessible.
The first two sessions are free, so that you can try it out without losing anything. Just bring yourself! We also have a low wage/no income pricing structure as finances should never be a barrier to participation - please just email to ask, or all the information is on our website in the Joining In section.
