Running on select dates from Friday 22 November 2024 to Saturday 04 January 2025, see Edinburgh’s stories brought to life on the castle walls, meet Rex the loveable lion in the Great Hall, and grab a drink or snack from the café or street food vendors. Make Castle of Light part of your festive plans and enjoy one of Scotland’s largest projection shows.

Terms and conditions

  • Two winners will be selected at random to each win one pair of Family Tickets (up to 2 adults and 3 children) to attend Castle of Light at Edinburgh Castle on their preferred date and timeslot, subject to availability.
  • This prize includes tickets to Castle of Light only. Any additional charges (travel, accommodation, food and drink etc) are the responsibility of the winners.
  • Winners agree to RSVP within 24 hours of being notified, otherwise, their prize will be reallocated to the next winner.
  • This prize is not transferrable or refundable and cannot be sold. No cash alternative will be offered.
  • A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted.
  • Employees of Historic Environment Scotland or their family members, or anyone else connected with the prize draw may not enter.
  • The decision regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final, binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The competition closes at midnight on Sunday 15 December 2024.
  • Castle of Light runs on selected dates from Fri 22 November 2024 to Sat 4 January 2025, 4.30pm to 9pm (last entry between 7.30pm and 7.45pm)
