The LGBTQ+ New Comedian of the Year Competition is back for 2026, showcasing some of the most exciting emerging talent on the LGBTQ+ comedy scene. From first-time performers to rising stars, you’ll see a diverse line-up of fresh voices, original perspectives and big laughs.
More than just a comedy show, this is your chance to help shape the future of LGBTQ+ comedy. Audience members play a vital role in the competition, voting alongside the judges to decide which acts progress to the next stage.
The event takes place on the evening of 19 September 2026 at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile. There is level access to all spaces within the centre, including the theatre. The venue is wheelchair friendly, with accessible toilets. Assistance dogs are welcome.
