Featuring a range of artworks from the City Art Centre’s permanent collection, this new exhibition examines how contemporary artists responded to the changing political, social, scientific and cultural post-war era.

The exhibition will take a closer look at evolving approaches to figurative and landscape subjects, the growth of abstraction and pop art, and the development of new media.

On display will be a selection of works by leading artists, such as William Johnstone, Joan Eardley, Eduardo Paolozzi, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Elizabeth Blackadder and Maud Sulter.

In addition, a programme of events including workshops, tours, lectures and talks will offer a deeper exploration into the exhibition.
