St Mary’s Music School’s Saturday Music Classes still have a limited number of places available for young musicians aged 10 to11 years who would like to learn the double bass, accordion, flute, clarsach, clarinet, recorder, saxophone or cello.

Each Saturday, around 150 children come together in a safe and caring social environment to discover the joys of music. Led by experienced teachers who are specialists in working with children through the arts, the classes place emphasis on engaging young people in the magic of music making.

Families describe St Mary’s Music School as a vibrant and welcoming community. While children enjoy lessons, parents can catch up with friends in the school café, making Saturday mornings a welcoming space for the whole family.

Alongside individual lessons, there are fun and supportive group classes where children learn and encourage each other. Classes are open to beginners upwards, and the school also offers a special discounted Instrumental Programme scheme, which combines instrumental tuition with a set of classes designed to give pupils a thorough and immersive music education.
