Spanning 2 days in September 2025, choose from two specialist courses:

Woodturning Weekend is one of the most accessible courses to give students a first point of access into woodworking, with a focus on woodturning and round joinery. Taught by Adam Stone, the School’s Woodturning specialist, students will learn how to work a lathe whilst being introduced to a wide range of different tools and techniques. They will also learn how to make tenons, tapered legs, sand and finish on the lathe. During the weekend, students will make a stool or plant stand, with a wooden turned top and three legs.

Led by Louise Forbes, a talented wood carver and the founder of Louise Forbes Designs, the Spoon Carving Course will cover the skills and techniques required to hand-carve a variety of wooden spoons. During the weekend, students will have the opportunity to carve a small salt spoon, a coffee scoop, salad servers or an alternative of their choice.

6 different sized wooden spoons laid on a large piece of slate.

Please note, all courses are for adults aged 18 years and over.

Full details of all both workshops, including booking details can be found on Chippendale International School of Furniture.
