Last Candle Tours is an audio walking tour you listen to on your phone. Stand where it happened, press play, and hear the story: the witches burned on Castlehill, the piper lost beneath the Royal Mile, the plague closes and the bodysnatchers, and the ghosts said to walk them still.
There are 68 stories in five walks covering the Old Town, from the Castle Esplanade to Holyrood. Each walk takes about an hour, at your own pace, whenever you like; there's no group and no fixed start time. The app shows each story's spot on a map and works offline once a walk is downloaded, so it's fine in the closes where signal drops.
The first six stories are free. Each walk is £2.99, or £9.99 for all five.
