About

McNaughtan's Bookshop was established in 1957 by Major and Mrs McNaughtan and has occupied the same basement premises at the top of Leith Walk ever since. We buy and sell secondhand, rare, and collectable books in most fields, and are Scotland's oldest surviving secondhand/antiquarian bookshop. As members of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association and the Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association, we uphold the highest ethical standards in the rare books trade.

Our premises offers a general stock of good-quality secondhand books on most subjects, and we also specialise in rare, collectable, and antique books. Regular lists of rare and antiquarian recent acquisitions are issued by email, and we exhibit at book fairs around the country several times per year.
