About

Their vision is to live in a community where no one feels lonely or isolated. Their mission is to bring people together in local communities to enhance health and wellbeing and have a positive impact on people’s lives.

They deliver this through four strategic programmes: support for people living with dementia, including their flagship and ‘excellent’ Dementia Day Care Service; a wellbeing programme for unpaid carers; a Community Hub programme; and The Eric Liddell 100, an international legacy initiative celebrating the life, sporting achievements and community service of Eric Liddell. The Eric Liddell: Legacy of an Olympic Legend Exhibition is open to visitors during opening hours.

Visitors are also invited to their Café Connect, a community café run by a qualified chef and supported by a team of dedicated volunteers, offering morning snacks, home-cooked lunches and afternoon teas.

The Community Hub hosts two charity shops: Tots Togs, a baby clothes shop, and a Book Room, both providing affordable and sustainable books and children’s clothing to the community.

The Eric Liddell Community was founded in 1980 in memory of the 1924 Olympic 400m gold medallist, Scottish rugby international and committed missionary, Eric Liddell. The organisation continues to uphold Eric's values of care, compassion and community in its work.

Their Royal Patron is Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.
