Step inside the city’s oldest visitor attraction, located at the top of the Royal Mile, and explore a world of illusions with surprises around every corner. Navigate a swirling light vortex and maze of mirrors, see yourself grow, shrink and stretch, or play eye-spy with the astonishing city viewcams and enjoy visual effects that twist reality. Join your guide inside the mysterious rooftop chamber to see Edinburgh as you’ve never seen it before.
Then, head outside to the Rooftop Terrace and enjoy an unbeatable vantage point for the most breath-taking photographs – you can even take a closer peek with a range of binoculars, all of which are free to use.

Throughout September, residents with an EH postcode can enjoy one child goes free with each full paying adult at Camera Obscura & World of Illusions from Sundays to Fridays (Saturdays are excluded).

- This reward is only valid for residents with an EH postcode. Contact and address details will be required when booking and on arrival (photo ID or utility bill with an EH postcode).

- This reward and associated promo code are valid Sunday to Friday from 02 to 30 September 2026. Saturdays are excluded.
- One child goes free with one full paying adult.
- A child is classified as between 5 and 15 years. Under 5s are free as standard.
- Open until late, Camera Obscura & World of Illusions is open throughout September as follows: Sunday to Thursday: 9.am to 8pm; Friday: 9am to 9pm.
- This reward cannot be used in conjunction with other offers or discounts.
- Advance online booking is required.
- All bookings are subject to availability.
