Mackays on the Mile Legend of the Month for October 2026

30% discount on the food menu at Mackays on the Mile

Tucked away in one of the Royal Mile’s many ancient closes, right in the heart of Canongate, Mackays on the Mile is a haven from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Favouring local produce, they aim to bring the flavours of our beautiful country straight to your plate. Mackays is open daily from 9am for breakfast and serves delicious food until late evening.

Proud of their 100+ bottle selection of whiskies, they also offer a cocktail menu inspired by Scottish distilleries. Or take your pick from the selection of local beers and ciders. Relax on the terrace with views of Calton Hill, sit inside watching a live game of sport, or enjoy live music on the weekend.

Mackays is fully accessible for wheelchair users, and family-friendly with baby-changing facilities in the venue. Plus, they’re also dog-friendly.
