Help us find Edinburgh’s Local Legends

Resident Rewards has a fresh new look – From Local Legends, FOR Local Legends – and to mark the occasion, we’re celebrating the incredible people who make our city shine. 

We’re inviting residents to nominate the unsung heroes in their lives – the kind-hearted shopkeepers, inspiring artists, dedicated bus drivers, lollipop ladies, community champions and countless others who go above and beyond every day, often without recognition. 

Whether it’s a neighbour running a food bank, a youth worker making a difference or someone who simply spreads joy wherever they go, this is your chance to share their story – and help them get the recognition they truly deserve. 

How to Nominate

Simply fill in the nomination form below with: 

• Your Local Legend’s name and story 

• Your contact email  

• Permission to share their story on Forever Edinburgh’s social channels 

Nominations are open now and will close on 14 August 2025. 

Prizes for Local Legends 

From the nominations, a selection of Local Legends will receive exclusive rewards from our Resident Rewards partners. 

These include: 

• Afternoon teas at Mimi’s Bakehouse 

• Meals at Malmaison 

• Distillery tours at Port of Leith Distillery 

• Boat tours with the Edinburgh Marine Academy 

Plus, one individual will win a truly unforgettable Legendary Local’s Day – a bespoke day out for two people, packed with some of the very best experiences Edinburgh has to offer. This will include a private tour of Lauriston Castle, where they will find out about the final private owners of Lauriston Castle – Mr and Mrs Reid, and Mrs Reid’s brother, Mr Barton and see what it was like to live above and below stairs at Lauriston Castle in Edwardian times.

By submitting a nomination for Forever Edinburgh’s Local Legends campaign, you agree to the following terms: 

Eligibility 

• Nominations are open to EH postcode holders only. 

• Nominations must be submitted via the official form on the Forever Edinburgh website. 

• Each person may submit multiple nominations. 

• All nominees must be aged 18+. 

Submission requirements 

• All required fields in the form must be completed for the nomination to be valid. 

• You may upload an image to support your nomination. By uploading, you confirm that you have permission to use and share the image. 

• You may opt in to allow Forever Edinburgh to share your nomination on social media and promotional platforms. Only opted-in submissions will be made publicly visible. 

• Any inappropriate, offensive or incomplete entries will be disqualified. 

Use of nominations 

• Forever Edinburgh may contact your nominee to ask for the right to publish your nomination, including the nominee’s name, image and story, across its digital platforms, social media, press and promotional materials. 

• We may contact you for further details, images or clarification if required. 

Prizes 

• A selection of nominees will receive a prize from our Resident Rewards partners. 

• Prizes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. They are non-transferable and non- refundable and cannot be sold. No cash alternative will be offered. 

• Each prize will be subject to availability and the terms and conditions of the participating partner businesses. 

• One nominee who receives the highest number of valid nominations will receive a bespoke Legendary Local’s Day experience, curated by Forever Edinburgh. 

Selection process 

• Final prize recipients will be chosen by the Forever Edinburgh team, based on nomination quality.

• Decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
