Craigmillar Park Golf Club Resident Rate

Nestled between the University of Edinburgh’s King’s Buildings and the Royal Observatory, Craigmillar Park Golf Club offers a peaceful 18 hole course with stunning views across Edinburgh, the Firth of Forth, and beyond to Bass Rock and the Isle of May.

Extended in 1927, the course was crafted by renowned architect James Braid, offering a rewarding challenge for all abilities amidst a tranquil and natural setting.

The club proudly hosts the Craigmillar Park Open, Scotland’s first Order of Merit event each season and part of the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Past champions include legends like Ronnie Shade, Charlie Green, and more recently, Ewen Ferguson, Scott Jamieson, Marc Warren and Sir Nick Faldo, who famously won in 1976 before turning professional.

As members of both The 1895 Club and the Association of James Braid Courses, club members enjoy reduced green fees at over 300 clubs across the UK and abroad. The clubhouse features a warm, welcoming lounge with panoramic views of the course and serves a wide selection of refreshments and meals daily, with 15% off for members.

Resident Rate

In celebration of the club’s President, Bob Kilgour’s 90th birthday – a distinguished member for over 47 years and former Club Captain in 1978 and 1995 – residents with an EH postcode can enjoy a limited number of introductory 1 month trial membership at a special rate of £90.00 per person.

In addition, the club are offering discounted membership fees to reflect the shortened season. A full member is £799 and a weekday member is £599.00 per person. This option still provides excellent value and access to the majority of the main playing period.

General terms and conditions

• This reward is only valid for residents with an EH postcode. Contact and address details will be required when booking and on arrival (photo ID or utility bill with an EH postcode).

Terms and conditions for one month trial membership offer

• This one month trial membership is a special offer for EH residents as an opportunity to sample golf membership at Craigmillar Park Golf Club with a view to joining the club after the trial duration. There is no obligation to join the club after the trial duration.
• The offer is open from 01 June  to 31 July 2025. The trial membership will start on the date of acceptance of application and end one calendar month after the starting date. This will be either 30 or 31 days depending on the month of application – for example, an application accepted and starting on 15 June 2025 will end on 14 July 2025; an application accepted and starting on 15 July 2025 will end on 14 August 2025.
• One trial membership is allowed per person during the offer period.
• The cost of the trial membership is £90.00 and must be paid on or before the starting date.
• Trial members are required to pay a golf insurance fee (currently £7.00 per annum).
• Payment can be made by bank transfer, debit card or credit card.
• Trial members will not be issued with a membership card.
• Trial members will be eligible to join the club at the end of the trial duration.
• Trial members will be eligible for a £90.00 discount on the current rate for either the Full Member or Weekday Member category.
• Trial members may be eligible for a discount on the current rate for other member categories, subject to availability.
• The trial membership is offered on the basis on fair use of the golf course and due consideration to other golf club members.
• The limit on the total number of rounds played during the trial month is nine, which is approximately two times per week.
• Trial members will be allowed to bring playing guests, fee payable at the current members’ guest rate.
• Trial members will not be eligible to enter any club competitions and medals during the trial membership.
• Trial members will be able to gain/maintain an official WHS handicap.
• Trial members will be able participate in social events and societies run by Craigmillar Park Golf Club.
• Trial members will not be eligible to vote at General Meetings.
• Trial members will not be able to stand for election to the Management Board.
• All golfers, trial members and any guests must be recorded on the on-line booking system before teeing-off.
• Any breach of use of the trial membership scheme will result in immediate suspension with no reimbursement.
