Edinburgh’s Christmas – EH discount

Edinburgh’s Christmas runs from 15 November 2024 until 04 January 2025, with a wide variety of activities and events taking place in the city centre. Whether you want to embrace all things traditional, or seek new ways of celebrating the holidays, there’s no shortage of things to do to keep all the family merry and bright.

Take-in panoramic views from the LNER Big Wheel, have fun on the ice at the George Street Ice Rink or pop in for a visit to Santa and his elves – it’s the perfect excuse to enjoy more family days out.


Edinburgh local resident discount

Residents with an EH postcode receive 20% discount on tickets to Edinburgh’s Christmas events (restrictions apply and some events are excluded).

Tickets can be booked on Edinburgh’s Christmas website or in-person at one of the on-site box offices at West Princes Street Gardens, East Princes Street Gardens, and George Street.


Terms and conditions

  • If purchasing tickets online, you must log in/register and ensure your billing address states your EH postcode. Select standard tickets and add the tickets to your basket. The ticket price should automatically change at the checkout.
  • If the ticket price does not automatically change, this means either the offer has been exhausted or your billing address does not have an EH postcode attached.
  • In-person, ask for the discount when purchasing tickets at the ride or attraction. Proof of postcode (driving licence, utility bill, Young Scot Card, etc.) will be required.
  • Tickets are limited to a maximum of four tickets per event and six per transaction The offer is only valid when tickets are purchased through Edinburgh’s Christmas or in-person at  the box office.
