This June, celebrate Pride with a journey beneath the Royal Mile. Join The Real Mary King’s Close on their Pride History Tour – a powerful, atmospheric experience uncovering stories of LGBTQIA+ life in Edinburgh from the 16^th century to 1912.

Tours run every Saturday in June 2025, and are led by historical figures Robert Fergusson and Marie Maitland, shedding light on early Sapphic poetry, hidden identities, and Edinburgh’s medical pioneers.

Resident Rate

Residents with an EH postcode can enjoy an exclusive discount of £2.00 per person on the Pride History Tour.

Booking should be made on The Real Mary King’s Close using code EHPRIDE2 at the checkout.

Terms and conditions

• This reward is only valid for residents with an EH postcode. Contact and address details will be required when booking and on arrival (e.g. driver’s license, utility bill, or official document dated within the last 3 months). If suitable proof is not provided, the full ticket price will be charged before entry.

Please note, due to the historic and preserved nature of this underground site, The Real Mary King’s Close is regrettably not wheelchair accessible. The tour includes 58 steps down and 38 steps back up, with uneven surfaces and some steep inclines. Sturdy footwear is strongly recommended.
