Hopetoun House Legend of the Month for June 2026

Widely considered to be Scotland’s finest stately home, Hopetoun House has been home to the Hope Family since the late 1600’s and the present Lord Hopetoun and his family still live here. 

This remarkable house, which is located in South Queensferry, is a place of beauty, tranquillity and architectural magnificence dating from the 17^th century. Inside, visitors will find stunning collections, while outside there are 100 acres of majestic grounds with nature trails and scenic walks to enjoy.

Residents with an EH postcode can receive 50% discount on advance purchase and on the day tickets and 20% off retail in the gift shop.

Bookings for admission tickets should be made on Hopetoun House using code EHReward in the discount code box at the checkout.

Terms and conditions

• This reward is only valid for residents with an EH postcode. Contact and address details will be required when booking and on arrival (photo ID or utility bill with an EH postcode).
• Residents with an EH postcode can receive 50% discount on advance purchase and on the day tickets.
• Bookings for admission tickets should be made on Hopetoun House using code EHReward in the discount code box at the checkout.
• To receive 20% discount in the shop throughout June, simply show your admission ticket with the EHReward code.
• This reward is valid until 30 June 2026. The house and grounds are open to the general public 5 days per week, Thursday to Monday.
• Discount only applies to entry to Hopetoun House. It does not apply to entry to Midhope Castle.
• Discount does not apply to food and beverages purchased in the onsite Stables Kitchen.
• All bookings are subject to availability.
• This reward cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.
• Advance booking is required.
• Dogs are very welcome in the grounds (on leads) and in the Stables Kitchen but are not permitted inside the house. Water bowls are provided outside, and owners are asked to clean up after their pets. Assistance dogs are permitted in both the house and grounds.
• The house is in a rural location with no nearby bus routes. If arriving by bike, please leave it in the car park. If coming by car, travel towards South Queensferry and follow the brown tourist signs. Alternatively, for Sat Nav use post code EH30 9RW.
• The house is largely accessible to those with mobility difficulties, however due to the age and nature of the building there are four rooms and the rooftop viewing platform that are not accessible when using a wheelchair. There are, however, images of these areas available. The main house, ballroom and stables wing all have accessible toilets.
