The Lost Close Resident Rate

After the Great Fire of 1824, a new courthouse and jail rose above Parliament Square – but below, something was left behind. Hidden vaults and a forgotten close lay sealed for nearly 200 years, until renovations in 2019 uncovered a lost piece of Edinburgh’s past.

During renovation works, a hidden basement was found under all the rubble, and it here that The Lost Close now host premium tasting experiences.

 The Evolution of Gin and Underground Gin Tasting experience is more than just a gin tasting – this is about the evolution of gin! On this experience you’ll follow the journey of gin from its origins to the modern spirit we know and love. Your guide will lead you through the different flavours, explain the history of gin, and suggest which mixers to add to the four gins you will sample.
