Edinburgh is buzzing like never before this summer. As well as the city’s world-renowned festivals, such as the Edinburgh International Festival and Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the capital is also playing host to massive concerts, including country superstar Luke Combs and rock legends Bon Jovi lighting up Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, and headline shows at the Royal Highland Centre.
Whether you’re here for the arts, the music, or just soaking up the atmosphere, please bear in mind that Edinburgh will be busier than usual. To help you make the most of it all, we’ve put together a handy list of tips for navigating the city during this high-season energy.
Please note, due to a fire at the former Debenhams store, a section of Princes Street is expected to remain closed until at least late August 2026. This is affecting bus and tram routes, with diversions in place. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.
