Enjoy the Defender of the Nation illuminated in a spectacular after-dark trail. Prepare to see Edinburgh Castle transform this festive season as Castle of Light returns for a fourth fantastic year.
Running on select dates from 24 November 2023 to 03 January 2024, delve into “Magic and Mystery”, as a tapestry of all-new projections dance across the walls. Let immersive illuminations and enchanting installations guide you through the castle grounds in a sea of twinkling lights and colourful displays at this all-new expanded show. You can also meet the Castle of Light guide, Rex the Lion, in the stunning surroundings of the Great Hall. With lots to see and do, and delicious food and drink along the way, it’s the perfect way to brighten your winter evenings and enjoy spending time with family and friends

How to enter
Two winners will be selected at random to each win one pair of Family Tickets (up to 2 adults and 3 children) to attend Castle of Light: Magic and Mystery at Edinburgh Castle on their preferred date and timeslot, subject to availability.

- Two winners will be selected at random to each win one pair of Family Tickets (up to 2 adults and 3 children) to attend Castle of Light: Magic and Mystery at Edinburgh Castle on their preferred date and timeslot, subject to availability.
- This prize includes tickets to Castle of Light: Magic and Mystery only. Any additional charges (travel, accommodation, food and drink etc) are the responsibility of the winners.
- Winners agree to RSVP within 72 hours of being notified, otherwise, their prize will be reallocated to the next winner.
- This prize is not transferrable or refundable and cannot be sold. No cash alternative will be offered.
- A maximum of one entry per individual is permitted.
- Employees of Historic Environment Scotland or their family members, or anyone else connected with the prize draw may not enter.
- The decision regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final, binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
- The competition closes at midnight on 15 November 2023.
- Castle of Light runs on selected dates from 24 November 2023 to 03 January 2024, 4.30pm – 9pm (last entry between 7.30pm and 7.45pm)
