Our Edinburgh 900 project is a 5 month-long package of activities on the theme of ‘Heritage, Community, and Wellbeing’ that will take place at sites all over Edinburgh, such as the National Museum of Scotland.
A culmination event in March 2025 features an exhibition of ethnic costumes, masks, and artworks produced by MCFB service users from a variety of projects: Bright Choices is one such project, which supports individuals affected by honour-based violence and hosts a Creative Nurture Group that uses art psychotherapy for recovery and growth; and 4-2-7 Mums’ Group, which provides a safe social space for mothers to encourage peer support and solidarity.
On the opening day of our wellbeing and celebration event, there will be a live fashion show and dance performance to celebrate not only the achievements of our service users but also their active participation in community life in Edinburgh. The series also includes seminars and workshops hosted by MCFB staff members and partners on topics such as wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and the transformative power of creative arts.
