Fully accessible venue- one level, accessible toilet available. Hearing loop in museum reception area. Visual story and sensory maps available on our website. Quiet area within the museum, sensory bags available to use in the museum on request.

Come and have a try at completing our free, David I Discovery Trail at Museum on the Mound. The trail booklet will guide you around the museum and through the story of King David, his creation of Edinburgh as a Royal Burgh 900 years ago, and how he made Scotland’s first ever coins.

The trail is available to all our visitors but could be particularly useful for Cubs working on their Local Knowledge badge, Brownies for their Local History badge, and the Scout Thistle Award.

Located in the historic Bank of Scotland Head Office, this fascinating museum takes a fresh look at money – and much, much more. Art & design, technology, crime, trade and security – all feature in the story of money. They are open throughout the year and admission is FREE.
