Outside the (Polis) Box is a series of creative community responses to the history of Leith, through the lens of present day residents. Our project brings together three organisations at the heart of the Leith community – Think Circus SCIO, Leith Walk Police Box, and Active Inquiry Theatre Company.
Our events in the coming months will include a children’s circus showcase as part of a free community performance day; Think Circus performances, re-telling the story of Leith fishwives; workshops with local children to teach skills and create performances; a short, interactive play based on the history of police boxes; and free community performance days at Leith Walk polisbox with local musicians, story tellers and creatives.
