The New Scots Burns Celebration is a community event to celebrate new friends and old traditions. Hosted by the New Scots Edinburgh Steering Group, the family-friendly Burns celebration will bring together New Scots (refugees, asylum seekers and migrants) and local volunteers for an afternoon of food, dancing, poems and songs that celebrate Edinburgh’s diversity and long history of welcoming new people into the community.

This Burns event is being planned and delivered by the New Scots Edinburgh Steering Group, which is a partnership of third sector organisations (including The Welcoming), community groups and churches across the city that work to proactively support the integration of refugee and asylum communities, known collectively as New Scots.
