Nikkan Dance Academy

Nikkan Dance Academy was founded by Tanwi Bhattacharya in Scotland with the vision of bringing the grace, rhythm, and storytelling of Indian classical dance to the local community. Starting with just a handful of passionate learners, the academy has grown into a vibrant hub for Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and Bollywood dance training.

From its earliest days, Nikkan has focused on discipline, creativity, and cultural connection, offering regular classes, stage performances, and annual exams to maintain high standards. Based in Scotland, our students range from young beginners to experienced dancers, all sharing the joy of movement and the pride of representing Indian heritage on stage.

Over the years, many adults and even senior learners have joined the academy—not just to learn dance, but also to nurture their mental well-being, find recreation, and rediscover joy through movement. For them, Nikkan has become more than a dance school; it is a warm community where art and wellness go hand in hand. Whether it’s performing at cultural festivals, community events, or prestigious stages, Nikkan Dance Academy continues to spread the rhythm of India to audiences far and wide.
