Places to stay
If you’re visiting Edinburgh for a city break Gorgie and Dalry are home to loads of self-catering apartments so you can find the perfect home away from home.
The Ardmillan Hotel is a traditional small hotel with ensuite rooms and its own bar and restaurant. It’s a cosy spot with good prices and great reviews.
The Dalry Guest House offer bed and breakfast, only 5 minutes’ walk from Haymarket Station. With a continental breakfast served every morning, and cheerful, inviting rooms, they’re sure to brighten your stay in Edinburgh, whatever you’ve got planned.
At one end of Dalry, you’ll find Haymarket Station, which you can reach by train from stations around the country. You can also get there in 20 minutes on a tram from the airport.
From the station you can catch a bus along Dalry Road, which becomes Gorgie Road, and heads west towards the Calder Road. Loads of Lothian Buses’ routes come along this way so there’s always one arriving to take you where you need to go.
If you’re travelling in from other parts of the city, you might find it easier to catch the 1, 34 or 35 services to Fountain Park and nip through the underpass to Dalry. Or you can use Edinburgh’s network of cycle paths, which come out in Dalry at Downfield Place and Murieston Crescent.
