Whether you want to catch the latest blockbuster, or catch up on one of cinema's classics, Edinburgh is packed with a range of top-notch cinemas for movie-lovers.

Vue Cinema at the Omni Centre in Leith Street offers movie fans a great choice of all the latest blockbusters in the city centre. Further out of town are two more large cinema complexes at Ocean Terminal and Fountain Park.

The renowned Edinburgh Filmhouse on Lothian Road is a smaller independent cinema which has a reputation for showing films from all over the world, from popular crowd pleasers to old classics. Just up the road from the Filmhouse is the Cameo Cinema, a 100 year old beauty which maintains its tradition of arthouse screeenings alongside the latest big releases and indie flicks.

The Dominion Theatre in Morningside is a firm favourite with Edinburgh residents, famous for its comfy sofas in place of traditional cinema steats.  A small but perfectly formed cinema it is available for private hire for childrens birthday parties, hen parties and even corporate events.

Nothing beats a good laugh. Edinburgh's range of stand-up comedians, one man shows and comedy classics know how to tickle the funny bones.
