Valid for 48 consecutive hours, the Royal Edinburgh Ticket includes guaranteed admission to these three Edinburgh attractions and three hop-on, hop-off Edinburgh Bus Tours as you explore the city between each attraction. Your Royal Edinburgh Ticket also entitles you to discounts at a variety of attractions and outlets.

Edinburgh Castle

Guaranteed entry to Edinburgh Castle is included in your Royal Edinburgh Ticket. See the firing of the One o’clock Gun, the famous time signal that has been firing since 1861. Admire spectacular views across the capital. The Castle is also home to St Margaret’s Chapel – the oldest building in Edinburgh, and Mons Meg – one of Europe’s oldest siege guns.

Palace of Holyroodhouse

Explore The King’s official residence in Edinburgh, The Palace of Holyroodhouse, including the magnificent State Apartments used by the Royal Family, the Throne Room and the chambers used by Mary, Queen of Scots from between 1561 and 1567. Make sure to leave time to explore the beautiful palace gardens and the 12th century Holyrood Abbey.

The Palace of Holyroodhouse is closed from 26 June to 03 July 2026 – entry to The King’s Gallery and a Palace Guidebook are offered as an alternative to Royal Edinburgh Ticket customers.

Between 15 September and 20 May, the Palace is closed Tuesday and Wednesday each week and no alternative is offered. It is open 7 days from 21 May to 14 September only.

The Royal Yacht Britannia

Follow in the footsteps of Royalty and discover Queen Elizabeth II’s former floating palace. With a variety of awards and accolades to its name, The Royal Yacht Britannia offers a fascinating insight into how the Royal Family and its 220 crew lived on board.

The Royal Yacht Britannia is open 7 days a week. It is closed on 25 December and 01 January.
